It’s not easy to credit this optimistic thesis given the horrors that innocent people are suffering around the world but I’ve ordered a copy of the book and I’m looking forward to seeing the graphs and statistics that make the case.
Meanwhile I’ve made this edition of 10 angels on springy wires. Of course angels are fictitious but I like the idea of a being that represents all those types of people who have somehow contributed to the happy state that Steven Pinker describes; creatures capable of reason, pity and kindness, of righteous anger but not of generalised hatred.” Paul Spooner
