A book of drawings of ideas for sculptures, machines and other free-range thoughts.
We are delighted to have this new book by artist Nik Ramage. The designer of the popular Fingers automaton.
A book of his drawings of ideas for sculptures, machines and other free-range thoughts. Compiled from notebooks Nik has drawn in since 2000, recording ideas as they occur. Some of the ideas he did make, some he didn’t and some are fine as drawings only.
A miscellany of his mental meanderings.
Vote for your favourite idea
Inside the back cover, you will find a postcard on which you can tell Nik which idea from the book he should make. Ideas with several votes or compelling reasons for being made, he will turn into a finished piece.
Size and twiddley bits.
The book measures 167mm high by 106mm wide with a depth of 23mm (6 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 15/16 inch). It is cloth bound in sunshine yellow with a half jacket, introducing the book. It has a fine green ribbon book mark, yellow endpapers, and a voting postcard, described above.
The book was produced with the generous support of Colección Solo, in Madrid and 98 supporters on Crowdfunder.
This is the video made for the Crowdfunder. It still serves as an introduction to the book.
