In 2023 we opened our Mechanical Making Space in Hastings with great help from our Crowdfunder donors. We have established a programme of free workshops and shared many wonderful automata with the local community.
As a small Not-for-Profit Community Interest Company (CIC) all profit goes towards promoting the understanding of creative engineering through our exhibitions, workshops and automata making kits. We don’t have the resources of big institutions, so we need people who care to support our work.
During 2026 we need to raise £50,000 to continue to grow our community outreach including Automata in the Classroom, our local schools project.
To start our campaign artist Oliver Pett has generously donated a one-off automaton, Mop the Dog which has raised £4000.
We're excited to continue sharing our automata making skills and knowledge with our community and inspiring engineers and makers of the future.
