Automata with A Town Explores a Book

Home » Automata with A Town Explores a Book

Earlier this year we ran 7 automata workshops with 240 Year 4 & 5 primary school children from St Leonards on Sea & Battle. They produced a fantastic amount of work exploring cranks and cams that we exhibited at A Town Explores A Book Festival exhibition alongside a selection of our automata exhibits.

This project was supported with funds from The Chalk Cliff Trust

Artist facilitator Loulou Cousin trained 2 early career facilitators, who face barriers to employment, to support the sessions. They have continued to deliver family workshops at our Open Saturday events.

‘Just to tell you year 4 had a blast today!! Many commented it was the best day EVER ! Thank the team. We can’t wait to see the exhibition.’

Teri Shackel, teacher, St Paul’s CE Academy

We are now fundraising to support more school automata workshops as part of next years festival and to continue our drop in workshops. You can make a one off or recurring donation here.
